The Alphabet

January 1, 2016

The alphabet started around  2000 BC because of the Egiptians necessety to communicate with their slaves.

The hieroglyphics were too complicated and hard to learn which became a problem at the time; each idea and word had symbols that only few Egyptians knew how to write and read.

Many linguists believe that our modern alphabet is a simplified version of these hieroglyphics which are based on sounds, they were passed on to other cultures by slaves and Persians as they returned home.
